OUR FACILITIES AT ST. PETER'S

St. Peter's church and rectory are on a hillside overlooking one of the town's lakes. The stone church was completed in 1927 and has beautiful stained-glass windows throughout. The sanctuary seats 180 worshipers.

The choir seats 25 and boasts an Estey organ, a three-manuaI and pedal organ installed in 1927. The organ was renovated and enhanced by the Peragallo Organ Company in 2007, and is now one of the finest recital organs in the area. The freestanding altar is the focal point of the chancel.

A five-year needlepoint project provided beautiful kneeler and seating covers throughout the sanctuary. The Sacristy and Altar Guild room, both recently renovated, are located behind the Sanctuary.

The Parish Hall is connected to the Sanctuary by a small sitting room and the Hall will seat nearly 200. It consists of a principal common room and has a modest curtained stage. A fully equipped, commercial-size kitchen adjoins the Parish Hall.

Also on the main floor of the Parish Hall are choir changing rooms, classrooms, a nursery and the parish office. On the second floor are the offices for our two Co-Rectors, a music office and an additional classroom. During the past year, considerable renovation and refurnishing has taken place throughout many of the rooms in the Parish Hall.

The undercroft, located beneath the sanctuary, provides finished space for preschool services and classrooms. During the week, this space is rented to the Academy for Children, an enrichment program for children ages 2 through kindergarten. The Academy offers creative arts, math, reading, French, Spanish and various after-school programs.

Grounds surrounding the church are heavily wooded and landscaped and are regularly pruned and tended. Safety and security are monitored on a monthly basis by the Property Committee. The Ronald Rowland Garth Memorial Garden is set aside for the burial of cremated remains of parishioners. Parking next to the church provides space for nearly 75 cars.

The Rectory, immediately adjacent to the church, is a large, well-maintained three-story home built in the typical "laker" style of the community. The Rectory has seven bedrooms, three full and three half baths and an attached single-car garage.
