YOUTH PROGRAMS

At St. Peter's we place a high priority on youth fellowship that will provide a spiritual focus
while acknowledging the need for social activities among all children.
Activities for youth groups are a big part of life at St. Peter's, and parents
are enthusiastic about continuing the effort
to build a Christian commitment among parish young people.

Vision Statement for the Youth of St. Peter's

St. Peter's affirms the importance of children and young adults as a vital part of our common life. In order to help them develop their Christian faith we encourage and support all their efforts to

  • Participate actively in worship, parish events and programs that lead to spiritual and personal growth and an understanding of Christian faith and ministry.

  • Learn Christian values and the history and traditions of the Episcopal church through study and active participation in all aspects of parish life -- worship, Christian education, outreach, fellowship and stewardship.

  • Encourage their friends to participate in events at St. Peter's and make sure that they feel welcome and included.

  • Actively demonstrate Christian love by reaching out to those in need through service projects, by caring for the sick and the elderly and by helping friends and neighbors.

    Christian Education at St. Peter's

Christian Education at St. Peter's is a very important part of our programs for children and young people. A Christian Education Committee works with the rector to organize the curriculum, solicit teacher volunteers and provide ongoing support.

Regular attendance at Sunday School and parental support of our program is important to insure a meaningful Sunday School experience for all St. Peter's youngsters. Sunday School starts at 9:50 a.m. and children join their parents during the 10 a.m. service at the Peace to participate in the Eucharist.

For details on our Fall 2007 Christian Education programs go to "Worship and Programs" and see "Christian Education."
